Peace. Perspective. Reflection. For me, the water brings all these things and through artwork, this is what I am trying to convey. To give a sense of peace, I presented the vision of a beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan for my audience as a whole to relate to and think on a time when they themselves experienced peace. When I look out onto the horizon I feel a sense of perspective, I tried to convey this by horizon focused around the use of color. Water reflects light, from my own experience, looking out onto the water causes me to reflect on myself and through this painting I hope it causes others to do the same.
